Hello everyone.  My name is William.  I am from the great state of Oklahoma originally, and I am a Libra born October 9^th, 1981.  After finishing high school in Oklahoma City at Bishop McGuinness, I worked for Americorps for two years to earn scholarship money for school, and to help people who were less fortunate.  From Americorps I went to School in Olympia, Washington at The Evergreen State College.  I studied film the first year, but ended up majoring in Asian Anthropology with a focus on China and Chinese. I speak Chinese with conversational fluency and enjoy learning more. I have worked for two years teaching English at a kindergarten and cram school in Pingtung, Taiwan. I have taught GEPT classes in Taiwan, and I am currently teaching conversation and TOEIC classes in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

        大家好!我是威廉。我在奧克拉荷馬州生長大，一直到高中時拿到獎學金才到華盛頓讀大學。1981年10月出生為天秤座的我高中時在奧克拉荷馬市的Bishop McGuinness高中就讀，那時期我持續參加政府教育與環保的專案計劃Americorps，兩年後我得到獎學金前往長青州立大學!大一時我主修電影學科，最後卻取得亞洲人類學中華文化研究文憑，我的中文還算流利並持續學習中。我已經在臺灣屏東的幼稚園和補習班教了兩年，包括全民英檢等項目，而現在我在泰國清邁教授多益課程。

My specialty as an English instructor lies in adaptation.  I am a product of the information age and I utilize the tools available to be the best teacher I can be.  I am currently instructing TOEIC, but as I am an American I am more familiar with the material in TOEFL.  While working for Americorps I also tutored high school drop outs in GED preparation, and children at the Scotland School for Veterans Children in Scotland, Pennsylvania in library referencing, biology and music.  I enjoy a challenge, but I take a laid back attitude in approach.  Learning is a process, and time is the best teacher.

因材施教是我一直深信的，身處資訊時代的我懂得結合身邊現有工具致力於教學，雖然我現在多益課程教授得比較多，但身為正統美國人的我對於托福課程還是有一定的熟悉度。在Americorps服務期間，我輔導了許多高中輟學的孩子和榮民二代。我樂於接受挑戰，但第一步是先靜觀其變。學習是一種過程，而時間是最好的老師。

        Students can expect punctuality and responsibility from me.  I like to get to know my students in order to understand their interests and goals better.  I believe in forging a professional relationship through mutual cooperation, and in developing an atmosphere of relaxed intellectual play. I have been teaching martial arts since I was sixteen, and English for the past two and a half years. When approaching different situations I expect to confront challenges, and I expect to find ways to make the best out of those problems.  Have a great day and take care.
