Hello to everyone! My name is Sean and I’m from the United States of America, born in the beautiful state of New York. I moved to Taiwan to be with my girlfriend in September of 2006 and now we are married. I learned about Taiwan back in 2005 when I worked for a big glass-making corporation in Taichung that has many factories around the world; during this time is when I met my wife. After returning to the U.S.A, I always remembered the great food, fun, and the many people I met that told me they were English teachers. I found that being an English teacher is something that I might want to try. A lot of my jobs when I was growing up were working closely with people of many ages in many different places, this was because I had a passion to work with people and do the best I can to make a difference and make changes in their lives any way I can.
你好，我叫西恩，是紐約出生的美國人。我在2006年九月搬到台灣和女友一起生活，現在她已經變成我老婆了。我是在2005年開始認識台灣的，那時候我為台中一個很大的眼鏡製造商工作，他們在世界各地都設有工廠。在我回到美國之後，我一直忘不了台灣的美食、美景和許多在台灣擔任英文老師的朋友們。這時，我想也許自己也能成為一個英文老師，因為在我的成長過程中，曾經做過許多和人們緊密接觸的工作，因為我對服務『人』的產業一直很有熱誠，希望盡我所能，對他們的生活帶來好的改變。
After 3 years being an English teacher, I know I made the right choice by coming to Taiwan and bringing a gift through patience, caring, understanding, compassion and an over-all big heart, with this, I plan on nourishing children’s and adult’s lives by doing the best I can, with my skills, experience, teaching techniques to get everyone motivated with my will to work hard to ensure you get the best possible fun experience learning English as possible. I am Virgo as a star sign, so I strive to be perfect, that’s a very good thing. As I said before, I worked with troubled people and families and children. Thereafter, after, I decided to try my hand at being a builder; not just a builder, but a fabricating builder with all metals and build bridges, stairs and other things that I can go on and on about.
擔任英文老師三年之後，我非常確定當初來台灣任教是正確的決定。我帶著一顆充滿熱誠的心，希望活用我的教學技巧、教學經驗….等，滿足各年齡層的需求，讓他們充滿學習英文的動力。因為我是處女座，所以總是盡量努力把事情做到完美。就像我之前幫助問題家庭一樣，我希望自己能成為一個重建者，幫助學生釐清自己的本質，並找到和外界聯繫的橋樑（英文）。
After much of my own studies and practice, I realized I was becoming good at teaching. I love to do and am best at conversation; I like to make jokes, people laugh and make everyone feel comfortable. I can help and teach with grammar as well. If there are certain grammatical things you would like to practice, let me know and we will work together to strive and get you to use grammar as best as you can. Here’s what you can expect from me. A fun, kind, caring, and always joking person to make you feel at ease and laugh; class should not be only business as usual, but fun as well. My conversation classes will help you feel confident with speaking, so you will not feel shy about speaking out. I tell all my students, “look at me, I can’t speak Taiwanese, I try, but I try with confidence and I know it’s not perfect and I often am not understood.” My point is, I won’t laugh at anything that’s not perfect, and I hope nobody will laugh at me for trying as well. You will learn idioms, grammar corrections, fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary usage you want to learn in sentences, much more as well as confidence.
在經過不斷的研究和學習之後，我想自己已經成為很好的老師。我最喜歡進行對話教學，我通常會說笑話逗大家，讓上課氣氛輕鬆融洽。如果你想練習文法技巧，我可以和你一起用各種不同例子練習，直到你熟練為止。來上我的課，你可以事先設想會遇到一個有趣、愛開玩笑，又有同理心的老師，課堂除了課本知識之外，也會充滿樂趣。我的對話課將讓你不再害羞，對說英文充滿信心。我總是和學生說『看看我，我不會說台語，但是我勇於嘗試，儘管我說的不完美又常常聽不懂。』我的重點是，不要害怕說的不好，不標準，我不會嘲笑你的英文不完美。所以除了片語，文法訂正，流利度，發音，單字補充，句子之外，我的課堂還會提供你足夠的信心。
